ABOUT ME

I am a private art dealer working from home specialising in Post-War British Prints. I am also the author of Terry Frost Prints: a catalogue raisonné published by Lund Humphries in 2010. All the prints listed on this site are available to view at my home in South London. You can contact me at the address below, by phone, or by clicking on the email address at the top of each page. You are more than welcome to make an appointment to come and have a look - I make very good coffee, or I am happy to bring any pieces that take your fancy to your home, work, or somewhere in between, it's an integral part of what I do - only you'll have to provide the coffee.

I started Dominic Kemp Modern British Prints in 2007 having worked as manager of the York Gallery in my home town of Tunbridge Wells. Since 1986 most of my career has been divided between art dealing and acting: I spent a year playing the lead role in The Mousetrap in the West End and appeared in over 50 plays with Kent Repertory Theatre. Films include Song For Marion; Miss Potter and Pierrepoint; TV credits are numerous, I'm not going to list them all, Downton Abbey; Dr Who; Eastenders; Wire in the Blood; Doctors; Derek. As well as writing the definitive book on Terry Frost Prints, I am consultant adviser for prints at the Chambers Collection, and the Curwen Archive. In 2008 I was guest curator for Curwen's 50th anniversary exhibition and from 2010 I have been a regular exhibitor at the British and International Art Fairs at the Royal College of Art and Mall Galleries. I lecture throughout the British Isles on Terry Frost, Lorca, St Ives, Corsham, and printmaking (£250 + expenses if you want to book me), and also  work closely with many public collections, helping them to acquire rare and outstanding prints: Pallant House Gallery; Fry Art Gallery; Swindon Museum and Art Gallery; Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre; The Chambers Collection; Churchill College, Cambridge; Downing College, Cambridge; Balliol College, Oxford... all hold pieces acquired from me. I am also an auctioneer and consultant valuer for the Fine Art Auction Group; Modern Art Auctions; Grand Auctions and an off-camera valuer for BBC's Flog It! And, continuing the actor/art dealer crossover, I even cropped up playing an auctioneer in Miss Potter a film about Beatrix Potter with Renee Zellweger. Phew! I think that's enough about me now - where's a trumpet mute when you need one!
